Gig at JAMM

I've got a gig at Brixton JAMM on the 26th Feb supporting a top UK band. They had a top 10 UK album last year! It's been billed as a secret gig for the next few days due to certain reasons but I will tell you who it is as soon as I can.

Parliament Visit & University

I was invited by Dawn Butler MP for Brent South to visit parliament recently. This is as part of the work I've been doing in Brent for Addaction, Britains largest Substance Misuse Organisation.

It was a fantastic evening and I enjoyed speaking with Dawn about the service that I ran in Brent. She seemed very impressed and asked me to email her more details! So I will be doing that next week sometime. I really enjoyed going inside the buildings it's amazing! Although I did get embarrased when the lady on the security went through my bag to find about 10 different hair products!

I've also recently applied for univerisity starting in September. I've applied at Thames Valley University. I've sent off all the UCAS so just waiting to hear back now.

Live & Unsigned 2010

I've been entered into the Live & Unsigned competition for 2010

Very Exciting. I'm gonna be singing Head Held High for the audition. Mine is on Sunday 31st Jan 2010!

Live and Unsigned is the largest national music competition for original artists; bands, vocal groups and solo artists.


Over 30,000 acts have auditioned over the last three years ... Are you good enough to enter?


The competition provides a great opportunity to perform live in front of some of the country's top producers, Label execs. promotors and DJs. If you make it through the auditions you will compete in the Grand Final and the Live and Unsigned Festival.

JUDGING


The judges will be looking primarily at musical ability, originality and performance capability. The act’s image must be one that’s distinctively individual and original, and they must retain an air of professionalism on and off stage. The judges will be seeking an act that has the potential to be successfully launched in the UK as a major recording artist. Subsequently, motivational skills are essential. The competitors who can sell themselves to those around them will give themselves every opportunity of winning Live and Unsigned.

2010 New Year Resolutions

Hi Everyone

Haven't blogged in a while and one of my resoloutions of the New Year is to blog so here I am again blogging haha.

So a lot has happened over the last few months in terms of my step to fame lol or not.
I know I auditioned for x factor and everything but in the end I decided that that wasn't for me. So now I'm recording an album! The first songs called Head Held High and it tells the story of my break up last year. It was my first break up and I never knew one could experience such emotional pain. Like day after day after day it just there. Horrible! No one deserves to go through anything like that.
I think I did quite well though I got through it by spending a lot of time with friends, meeting new people and my hobbies.

So my other resolutions?

I'd like to see more of London - there are so many hidden places waiting to be discovered so I will be taking my camera and walking around London.

I'd like to go to more live gigs, even if it's just like open mics in Camden I'm cool with that

Go to the theatre
See the museums.

I'd just like to do more cultural things really.

We'll see how it goes.
